When you cannot be home with your pets, give them the next best thing: a trip to our Fort Worth dog and cat boarding facility. At University Animal Hospital, we go all out to make your pets feel safe and cozy while you’re away. You’ll get to focus on your travels as a result, secure in the knowledge that your cats and dogs are in great hands.
A Look at Our Dog and Cat Boarding Facilities
Our state-of-the-art boarding facilities are built with your pets’ comfort, safety, and security in mind. We aim to offer a low-stress kennel experience to all the dogs and cats in our care. And that starts with separate cat kennels, dog runs, and exercise pens.
All our kennels have what your pets need to feel like they’re on a vacation of their own. We have runs perfectly sized for dogs, big and small. So, you can count on your pup enjoying room to stretch out while still feeling quite cozy.
For our kitty friends, we have a specialized feline room that you can see from the lobby. The kennel spaces offer your cat room for enrichment without the stress of seeing other felines nearby. To make their visit even more magical, all the cats get to visit the exercise area with their housemates.
Want your cats to have a chance to make new feline friends? Just ask, and we’ll pair up a few like-minded kitties for a play session.
We Give Your Pets the Best With Quality of Care
Our cat and dog boarding services center around providing pets with the highest quality of care. We’ll welcome your pet into our facility with open arms and then treat them like a part of the family.
We’re well-versed in giving all pets just what they need for an enjoyable stay. Just let us know the level of care your dogs and cats prefer, and we’ll provide our full support. Have a pet on medication or with other special needs? That’s not a problem!
Our efforts help keep stress to a minimum while keeping your pets happy and healthy. We always have vets available, of course, in case any problems arise during your pet’s stay.
Our Pet Boarding Requirements
When boarding at our facility, we ask that you make sure your pet is current on all vaccinations, including:
- Rabies

- Bivalent flu
- Bordetella
We also would like to confirm that your pet is current on fecal parasite checks and is heartworm negative. Need help getting them ready for their boarding experience? Just let us know, and we’ll get you set up with a vet visit.

Should Your Pet Become Ill
One of the advantages of boarding your pet at a veterinary hospital is that medical attention is readily available should the need arise. We closely monitor all boarding pets for change for changes in appetite, elimination, and behavior. Any change is reported to our veterinarians and we will then try to contact you to authorize treatment.
Pets with Special Needs
We also provide care for pets with special circumstances such as blindness, diabetes, kidney failure, or recent surgery. Please be sure to bring enough of your pet’s medications for the duration of his/her stay.
Required Vaccinations
To help prevent the spread of infections or contagious diseases within our facility, all pets must have had a physical exam, been completely immunized, and tested negative for intestinal parasites and heartworms within the past 12 months. We ask for proof of vaccination upon check-in to our clinic.
Dogs: Exam, DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies, Fecal and Heartwork test, Bivalent Flu.
Cats: Exam, FDVRTC, Rabies and Fecal test
All pets will be given a Capstar at owners expense upon arrival. If any further treatment is necessary, there may be additional costs.

If you would like your pet bathed before going home, please let us know at check-in. We will bathe your pet the morning of check-out, and your pet will be ready to go home after 3PM.
