About University Animal Hospital

Our History

University Animal Hospital was founded in 1976 by Dr. Sam Adams. Dr. Adams had previously been an associate in other area clinics and chose his hometown of Fort Worth for his first private practice. In 1980 growth demanded the acquisition of more space, and UAH moved into a former gym a few yards away at 3109 McCart, where we have been ever since.

Dr. John Minnerly started working for Dr. Adams while he was still in high school and continued until he left to attend college at Texas A&M University. After graduating from TAMU in 1986, Dr. Minnerly worked at several animal hospitals, including Banfield, Animal Hospital of Southwest Fort Worth and Deer Creek Animal Hospital. Dr. Minnerly returned to UAH in 2002 as a part time associate, and became a full time associate in 2006. In 2009, Dr. Minnerly purchased the practice from Dr. Adams.

Throughout the years, University Animal Hospital has maintained its tradition of providing the best veterinary care possible. We look forward to continuing this tradition with the help of dedicated, knowledgeable, and skilled staff.
